The Royal Thai Embassy, Brussels, with the support of Woluwe Saint Pierre, proudly invites the public to Thai food and cultural festival ?Essence of Thailand IV?, on 13 September 2009, at Place Dumon, Stockel, 1150 Brussels. Since 2006, this festival has successfully been organized for three consecutive years and overwhelmingly supported by Thai restaurants and Thai communities all over Belgium.
On Sunday 13 September 2009 at 11.30 hrs, the event will begin with a spectacular Thai Folk dance performed by Thai Performing Arts Club from the Netherlands. This will be followed by remarks from Mr.Willem Draps, Mayer of Woluwe St. Pierre and Mr. Pisan Manawapat, Thai Ambassador to Belgium. Public are welcomed to join the event from 10.00-20.00 hrs. As the theme of this year?s event is ?Thai exotic fruits?, there will be various kinds of fresh fruits flown in from Thailand for the public to taste and buy such as: mangosteen, mango, longan, rambutan, pomelo, tamarind, coconut and durian.
In Place Dumon, you will enjoy watching Thai cooking demonstration and trying delicious food from many well-known Thai restaurants in Belgium, namely, Blue Elephant, Mitra, Les Larmes du Tigre, Thai House, Kin-D, Ayuthaya, Krob Khun, Pouy Cuisine Thai, My Tai,Thai Corner, Ploy Pochana, Thai Coffee, Malai Thong, CoCo Mango, Anothai, Thai City, Tawan, Thai Garden, Le Siamois, Thai Kinnari, Niki?s Wok, Chiangmai Thai Market, Thai Bangkok, Krung Thai, Thai Fusion, Ying Thai, Sam Mitr, Tam Service, Ocha and Tjoung-Tjoung.
These Thai restaurants will serve more than 50 dishes of authentic Thai food. Popular dishes such as Pad Thai,Tom Yum Gung, Tom Kha Kai, Papaya Salad with Thai style BBQ., Tod Mun, Hor Mok, Spring roll, Sweet and sour(fish/prawn /chicken), Fried rice with varieties of Thai curry and various kinds of Thai noodles will be sold at moderate price .
Across the road to Avenue Baron d? Huart, there will be ?Cultural Zone? comprising more than 30 booths of Thai desserts, snacks, handicrafts and cultural activities which are rarely seen in Belgium.? After enjoying Thai food and desserts, you may refresh yourself with Thai ice-cream, herbal drinks and Thai beer.
On stage at Place Dumon, a series of Thai classical and folk dances will be performed throughout the day in several rounds by Thai Performing Arts Club. In the meantime, you may entertain yourself in the Thai ambience by watching umbrella painting, fruits and vegetable carving, making of floral garlands and Thai folk dances on small podium or relaxing yourself with Thai traditional massage and spa in the cultural zone nearby.
People, who come to Thai Embassy booth and fill in questionnaire about Thai fruits, may win 1 round trip air ticket Paris/Bangkok/Paris offered by Thai Airways International.
